See this little girl surfing on the Pacific Ocean? This is my 11 year old daughter taking her very first surfing class in Hawaii by Oahu island three weeks ago when we were taking vacation there.
She only took about 10 minutes to grasp the skills and challenged herself to stand on the board, take the wave and surf, like a natural pro!
I know it’s been her big desire to surf since two years ago after she heard some of her friends had water fun and snorkeling class in Hawaii. Since then she had been begging me to bring her to Hawaii. When the vacation trip finally came, she had made her mind that she would explore many water adventures:).
After snorkeling in the pools, playing by the beaches, swimming in the sea and getting under the ocean in a submarine, snorkeling is not challenging enough for her any more. She wanted to learn surfing, and insisted to fulfill this wish before we leave Hawaii. And she made it, in the morning right before our afternoon flight back to NYC. I am so proud of her, and myself as well, as her mom who invested and helped her to realize another one of her many dreams.

Feb.1, 2020 Saturday night, on the flight from Nashville TN back to New York, I wrote the following notes to myself. It’s my purpose, vision and manifestos.
Monday, my first thing was to print this out and hang on my bedroom mirror and my office wall, to remind myself every day, about that view from the sky, that inspiration and feeling of learning from and connecting with other great thoughts, and that vision for my life and the lives that I could impact.
2020 is a real new start for me and you!
I’d share with you the notes I wrote to myself, and hope it’s inspiring to you for what you’d fulfill in this world as well.
*******Spring’s Purpose, Vision and Manifestos*******
*I, Spring Yan Zheng, will not just be a life coach, or a marketing, sales and business strategist, I am more an Abundance Thought Leadership Coach, and a great mentor with love, faith, high value standards and full commitment to the people who I connect with and serve.
*I am born to live in love and abundance, and I am called to empower and transform visionary entrepreneurs and life changers to step up and stand out as confident experts and thought leaders, so that they could abundantly attract clients, impact lives and create the Abundance of All in the world.
*I will stand on the same stage with my most admired mentors, associate with them, friend with them, and live an abundant life with the best thought leaders of the world all around me and throughout my journey.

I used to be preferring outdoor activities in the wild, mountains or state parks, hiking, climbing, riding horse…as long as it’s not in the water! I did not learn how to swim and were afraid of water. Also as a mom of two kids, who already wants to save time for kids and family, swimming was just inconvenient and taking too much time to change.
When two kids started to learn swimming a few years ago, I was just on the deck enjoying watching them. When I had to encourage them to be brave and be more consistent in learning swimming, I found it’s not in my integrity any more without showing my own efforts as mom and their role model. So while kids were learning, I started to play water in the pool’s family side:).
I observed and learned how others were swimming. Little by little, I could merge into water to hold my breath, then I could swim 5 meters, then maybe 10 meters, then I learned how to change my breath while swimming which took quite a while, then I learned breaststroke, also slowly learning free style. One day, after many times trial of a whole lap distance, I dared to challenge myself to get into the deep lap side where my kids could swim. I got quite a few times of panic. One time I even stopped in the middle to hold the rope and was rescued by the lifeguard:).
Now I’m still in the slow progressing status, but I could finally enjoy whole laps of swimming, together with my kids in the same lane. Even though I could not compete with kids, I could swim with them, have fun together, and also encourage them to take challenges to improve, while I was in the water as well!:)
Winter’s coldness scared many people away, so the big swimming pool in the recreation center is much more peaceful and enjoyable than in summer crowded time. It reminded me that when you could commit to something and be consistent in action, no matter how inconvenient, challenging and slow progress it is, you will eventually make big progress when you look back to see where you have started.
In 2018, I’ve had quite a few things that I have been committed to and taking consistent actions, like daily post on Abundance Today, daily building meaningful connections, daily stretching and exercises, weekly Facebook Live, weekly Sunday church service, weekly swimming, bi-weekly entrepreneurs meetups……I’m so glad that I have been persistent on these basic practices.
For 2019, what is the one thing that you feel very challenging or even scary, but you would still like to commit to it with consistent action, no matter how show progress it could be?
Make that commitment in your heart and mind today, and trust yourself that, as long as you take baby step every day or every week consistently, you will make big change eventually, and for that you will be very proud of yourself at the end of 2019!
