My First Dream and New Dreams

To achieve great things, we must first dream. What is your dream? Are you still striving for it? I’d share with you a humble journey of dreams……

It’s very interesting to recall my first dream today when I was volunteering to school career day. My life’s first dream and wish was that I wanted to be a teacher, and I still remember how I was enjoying teaching neighborhood kids when I was 9-10 years old! I admired my teachers and what they were teaching us and helping open new doors for us, to the outside big amazing world…

I had wonderful academic performance through the educational years. When I needed to take exams for university, I followed some teachers advice to register for computer science major as it was the trend and most popular one at that time with a good prospect for a nice career. I forgot my first dream.

After I graduated from one of the best universities in China and was choosing my PhD programs in the USA, I got the chance to reflect on my passion, as I was not really enjoying to work with computers:). I followed my heart and chose Education Management, and was accepted by Columbia University and the University of Pennsylvania. I was very happy and excited for it. But unfortunately my visa application to the USA was rejected, my dream and heart were broken…for years……

After years of working in international corporations, and finishing my Executive MBA, I finally came to the USA, and got a director position into the headquarters of a fortune 100 company by wall street.

2009, after I left the corporate world, I finally got another chance to reflect, research, learn, and choose what was my true passion. I found coaching, so close to education, while even more inspiring and empowering. I got my professional coaching certificate from New York University. My new dream picked up wings! And since then, I never looked back!

It’s been 10 years for me in coaching. The students asked me, what could be my next career. I said, this it is, empowering abundant entrepreneurs and thought leaders, this would be my career for the rest of my life. In it I am a life long learner, have been luckily learning from so many great mentors, have been transforming myself through the years, will be better of myself and better in my practice, and help more entrepreneurs and leaders to stand out in the market with their blessed passions and gifts to fulfill their true dreams……

In this faithful journey, I’m getting my bigger vision and bigger dreams……

“To achieve great things, we must first dream.”

Our dreams are the nudges of our call and our true purpose. Never ignore that nudges and secret whispers from the above.

After my recent program launch, I designed a post-launch rewarded survey to learn the feedback of people who signed in to my list to access my great resources.

Q2: How much are you Committed to realizing your dreams? (Use a number of the scale of 0-10, 0 is Not Committed at all, 10 is Fully Committed.)

The answers to the above first question are all 10, Most Important! (Good news!:)

The answers to the above second question average at 7! (Some answered 10, some answered 5, or 8)

This is a real life snapshot of most people’s status. Their desires are at 10, while their commitment and action are at 7. Is this you too?

Passion Interviews on YouTube from “NYC & Globe on Passions Project”

“NYC & Globe on Passions” Project is born in Feb.2016!

I have had this idea for long time to connect with and interview as many as I can those people who are following their passions and doing what they love. A few years ago, I initiated and interviewed over 30 international passion pioneers and published the interview report online with their real life stories and insights. It’s called “Doing What You Love” Interview Report. Many of those interviewees are entrepreneurs. I loved their energy and commitment to their passions. Those interviewees with their passionate stories and insights inspired thousands of people and are still inspiring and empowering us today.

I grow, and my coaching services grow as well. This great idea has been growing inside of me. I wanted to do video interview for better message convey. Such idea also somewhat frightened me as it’s still my challenge to do videos especially with myself in. I guess my conservative culture background wanted me to stay in a quiet place:-). My passion and the Law of Attraction are more ready than my mind. And now my big idea manifested again, in a better way. From the clearer idea to manifestation, it’s quicker than I thought. I did not get time to prepare well, and the opportunities just knocked my door. They are telling me that I am ready, in my mind and wish, even though not in my preparation yet. So I got just one night to be afraid of the opportunity and challenge myself to open the door. Here I am in!

I got the potential interviewee’s agreement! I did the interview with my cell phone. The same day, right after my first interview, I got another potential interviewee’s agreement too! So within two days, while companying my kids in their Winter Olympic Camp ice skating classes, without any formal dressing and makeup, without any detailed interview script preparation, I made two great quality interviews! And the “NYC & Globe on Passions” Project was like naturally generated immediately following the interviews. That’s the feeling of doing what you love, adventurous, smooth and joyful. God must be happy with my idea and long term efforts before this moment!:)

I reactivated my YouTube channel which I opened years ago but did not get chance to run it. Now it’s time to let it open and spread meaningful inspirations. I learned quickly how to make videos and publish them. It’s not for perfection, but for bringing great inspirations and empowerment to people like you who are thirsty for great resources to help you take actions and enjoy your life more. And I believe this project will grow to be better and better. If you also took long time wandering if a new challenge and change is for you or not, and if it’s always in your heart and mind, now it’s your time to take it and make it.

I believe there will be more and better quality interviews coming on their way. I don’t know when and how. I just share this mission to the universe and would follow the energy flow where it may bring me to. I’m ready for more adventures and surprises, therefore better inspirations to share with you.

We all see many such highlights of news articles like “The Top Majors Employers Want To Hire” or “Degrees That Will Impress Employers The Most”, or “The Top Paying Majors”……etc. Here below is an example.

With those above-mentioned popular degrees, you will impress employers. Would you also impress yourself and fully enjoy your work? Such news or media is our society’s mechanism to guide people to live a life meeting the society’s needs or expectation, according to the society’s concept and standard of success and happiness. The only question is, will you be happy living with such guidance?

I gained the top #2 and #4 degrees in demand which are stated in the above article. I worked for globally well known corporations, earned good incomes, and enjoyed my efforts and results for over 10 years. But one day, facing a tough challenge and decision making opportunity, I realized that my life could be different and I could make different choices following my heart, instead of following the society’s guidance. I finally chose to do what I really love, follow my inner guidance and live a life with more uncertainties and challenges, but also more freedom, creativity, love, wisdom and happiness. It definitely needs courage to make the transformational decision, and more importantly, the faith to persist on the journey, and the wisdom to enjoy the whole process.
